My Job Is Weird
Wednesday, June 8th, 2011
Hi, friends!
Check it out…I wrote something two days in a row!!
It’s been a while since I tried to explain my weird job, I think. The short story is that I’m a software consultant. That doesn’t sound too weird, right?
Well…
The weird part comes where I travel nearly every week. I usually leave home Sunday or Monday and go back home Thursday. Where I travel to depends on where the client is. I’ve worked in some awesome places: Rapid City, SD; Pleasanton, CA; Chicago, IL. I’ve worked in some not-so-awesome places: Fort Smith, AR; Concord, NH (Sorry, Audrey!); High Point, NC. (I mean no offense to any of those places really; they just were NOT my favorites.)
This week I’m in Lafayette, LA. I’ve been here off and on since December. I really like it in many ways, but I’m way over the weather. I don’t get how people live here in the summer. (I do love the accent though. It’s awesome.)
Next week I start a new project in Seattle! I’m so excited because I’ve never been there…or to Washington at all. I can’t wait to see it and to run there! Ever since I because a runner (I LOVE saying that!), visiting new cities has been even more fun. I can’t wait to run in cooler temps!
I have been running in Louisiana though. Last summer, I was working in Chicago and just always did my runs early in the morning so it wasn’t that hot, but this summer, I’m determined to get more used to running in the heat. I don’t want to feel unable to run when it’s hot, and I know the only way to keep that from happening is to get out there and run. I’ve been a little slower than normal, but honestly, it hasn’t been that bad. Of course, I say that when I’m not running. When I’m doing it, I’d probably say it’s torture!
Anyway, I’m super excited about going to Seattle next week. I hope I think to have my camera out on a run or two. I’m so bad at that!
My favorite place to run (and to be) is San Francisco! That’s one place I have managed to get my camera out a few times on runs.

I have a million more…
